More Than a Farm—A Place to Feel at Home
Lucky Pennie Farms grew from a simple longing—to slow down in a world that never seems to stop, to reconnect with what you find most important, and to know that it's never too late to write your story the way you can best imagine.
Nestled in the quiet countryside of Townville, South Carolina, we’re more than a farm—we’re a haven for peace and presence.
Our herd of gentle, loving cattle is the heart of everything we do. Whether it's a cow cuddling session, capturing memories in a rustic photo shoot, or joining us for a seasonal gathering under the Carolina sky, every experience at Lucky Pennie Farms is designed to nourish your soul and create moments you’ll never forget.
We also offer boutique cattle ownership—an opportunity to bring home a piece of the peace and connection we are striving for!
Rooted in care, calm, and connection, Lucky Pennie Farms is where slow living meets lasting joy.
Our Philosophy:
Life moves fast—but here, we choose a different rhythm.
At Lucky Pennie Farms, we believe in the quiet magic of slowing down, the healing that comes from meaningful connection, and the strength found in gentleness.
These aren’t just words—they’re the heartbeat of our farm. When you visit, you’ll feel it in every moment:
- Slowing Down is Essential – in the way we work, the peace of our fields, and the space we create for you to breathe.
- Connection is Healing – with nature, with our animals, and with yourself.
- Gentleness is Powerful – in every touch, every step, and every welcome we offer.
We’re not about hustle or hurry. We’re about open skies, soft breezes, and time well spent. Here, you’re invited to pause, listen to the quiet, and savor the simple things.
That’s the Lucky Pennie way—where slowing down feels like coming home.
Meet Pennie -
Pennie spent a decade as a devoted stay-at-home mom, nurturing a love of reading, creativity, and curiosity in her four children—Victoria, Madelynne, Andrew John, and Amie. Once they were all in school, she followed her longtime dream of becoming a nurse. She earned her BSN and later an MBA, working as a registered nurse for several years before transitioning into the corporate side of healthcare, where she continues to work today.
In 2024, after the loss of her husband, Pennie found herself reconnecting with old friends and drawn to the healing calm of the countryside. That’s when she met her first Highland cow—and it was love at first sight. After months of quiet planning and reflection, everything aligned. One day, Maggie Moo came walking down the driveway, with several more Highland beauties close behind.
These days, when she’s not working her corporate job, Pennie is most likely out in the pasture tending to her cows or cherishing time with her grandchildren.
Her deep love for family, healing, and fresh beginnings is at the very core of Lucky Pennie Farms.
Meet Andrew, Kennedy, Aubrey, & Homer
Andrew and Kennedy have been inseparable since they were 14—and now they’re raising the next generation of farm kids with their daughter Aubrey (4) and a baby boy - Homer, born August of 2025. Together, they embody the heart of Lucky Pennie Farms: strong roots, simple joys, and a love for country life that runs deep.
Andrew is a full-time diesel mechanic and the farm’s go-to guy for maintenance and heavy lifting. From mending fences to loading feed, he’s always there when something needs fixing—unless he’s sneaking in a little time with his daughter, who follows him like a shadow.
Kennedy is the quiet powerhouse of the pasture. She tends to the herd’s daily care with grit, grace, and zero hesitation—littles in tow. She’s the kind of woman who can bottle-feed a calf with one hand and chase off a snake with the other. Tough, nurturing, and deeply connected to the animals, she keeps the rhythm of the farm moving every single day.
Little Aubrey and Homer are growing up surrounded by cows, mud puddles, and love—and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Don't ask her if her littles were born in a barn, because she will definitely say YES!!
Meet Amie, Shawn, & Warren
Amie and Shawn are the heart of everyday life at Lucky Pennie Farms. With a love for the land and a deep care for the herd, they bring gentle hands and steady hearts to everything they do.
Shawn has always felt most at home around animals. Whether he's checking fence lines, scratching behind fluffy ears, or bottle-feeding a calf, he’s in his element.
Amie is currently soaking up every moment with baby Warren, who spends most of his days wrapped close to her heart as she sings softly and tends to the cows. From morning feedings to evening walks through the pasture, Warren is learning early what it means to grow up surrounded by love, hard work, and moo-sic.
Together, this young family brings warmth and wonder to the farm, reminding us that the most beautiful things often grow in slow, simple moments.
Meet Madelynne, Gwen, & Doug -
Just down the road from Lucky Pennie Farms lives Madelynne and her two little farmhands-in-training—Gwen (4) and Doug (2). After leaving Westminster for college, Madelynne found her way back home to raise her babies surrounded by fresh air, open pasture, and the rhythm of farm life.
While she’s not on the front lines with a pitchfork, Madelynne plays a vital role in bringing the heart of Lucky Pennie Farms to life through branding, storytelling, educational resources, and web design. From crafting cow-themed coloring pages to writing up field trip scripts and sharing the herd's stories online, she’s the creative voice behind many of the materials that connect families and classrooms to the farm.
Her daughter Gwen loves helping feed and brushing the cows—though she’s usually caught mid-snuggle with one of her favorites. And little Doug? He’s quick on his feet and eager to lend a hand, racing to “help” at every opportunity.
Together, they bring creativity, joy, and just the right amount of toddler chaos to the Lucky Pennie family.
Meet Victoria, Josh, Zayden &
Jackson -
Over the river and through the woods, you’ll likely find Zayden and Jackson at their Mutti’s place, soaking up time with the cows and loving every minute of it.
Whether it’s brushing the cows, leading one of their favorites, or just chatting with folks about the herd, Victoria and Josh are often right in the middle of the action at events—sharing their love for farm life one cow at a time.
